Just booked a virgin flight using my $300 travel credit and noticed that i earned 2MR/$1 and 1MR/$1 over the $300 travel credit labelled as amex travel bonus
- has that happened to anyone?

yes, thats normal, not sure if its a promotion or permanent, but it did say somewhere
y

Thread revival, im not sure if this is general knowledge but...

im booking a hotel for 3 nights in asia,
its coming up as $150, $166, $166 separately
but when I try and book for 3 Nights consecutively, its coming up as $166x3
(its almost they get the highest price and multiple by number of days for conveinence)

so its good to check indivudally as well for comparision,

for me, what I do is, I go to one of the hotel sites eg agoda, expedia, booking, com

I then look up the price for a single night midweek, and then I look up a few random times a year (outside peak periods)
and to me thats the cheap market rate for the hotel,
I then go to amex travel, and look up dates I want to go, and then if the price is similar to what I have, then its a definite GO!

my Travel credit shows up but whne I go to book it doesnt give me the option to use it

terms and conditions say it will become avaiable when I pay my annual fee,
is there any way around it?
ive only had my card for 2 weeks

I've had my new AMEX Explorer for a week and was able to book a flight using my travel credit two days ago.

I also hit the minimum spend on the weekend and had the 100,000 welcome bonus points credited today.

So far AMEX are exceeding my expectations :D

that's right the budget carriers are not listed only full serviced airlines to use your amex travel credit. i find it good value with you book hotel or car rental and any remaining value i use it for an experience

just realised that amex travel section has a section for cruises
has anyone tried booking a cruise using travel credit?

im not very experienced with cruises so am not sure if the prices quoted are overpriced or normal :)
