Question re MHUpgrade from QFF ticket

Hi all,

Sorry for asking a question without contributing myself first. I've asked MH the same question but no response so thought I would go other avenues.

Has anyone booked a Qantas rewards economy ticket for a MH flight and then been able to pay to upgrade or is that not allowed as not purchased via Malaysia Airlines?

I am looking for a flight from HKT to KUL early next year and like many am frustrated at the hundreds of thousands of QFF points I have that I have been unable to use due to no Classic Rewards via QFF.

Was thinking I could use 10,000 points on economy and then potentially upgrade with cash.

Your 081 ticket is not eligible. However, you can check the availability of the business seats through the Qantas website, and pay the difference (and change fees) in points if you find one.

Thanks Tlee. No J availability on QFF, hence why I was thinking of this workaround. Will just have to use revenue and pay for J. Thanks anyway.
