Question regarding Sofitel and lounge access

Good to see that the Sofitels have all joined up to provide platinum benefits. Albeit with no lounge access. Just wanting to clarify....is there no possibility of being upgraded to a club room and thereby access to the lounge. Anyone with any experience with this?

Anything is possible, likely is a different matter, as I have said elsewhere, for a french company they are remarkably Scottish at times.
