I should have said very expensive and stupid hobby. Get a life John.... ;)

Morning flights following sleepless overnight flights are history. Never again, although I have a few scheduled for my upcoming RTW in August. :(

Hmmm ... Statements made in the aftergloom of remorse ... :p

FWIW, I alway try to have a shower in the QP while awaiting my homeward connection in those circumstances; freshens one up no end.

I pack a change of clean clothes or at least clean underwear.

Not a very good morning in BNE with the customs welcome home fanfare included free of charge.

Only just made the connecting domestic flight to SYD.

Yes, I always take one set of clean underwear for each week of travel.

Shouldnt it be one per two weeks as you can turn them inside out?

In actual fact, it should be 1 per month as you can also reverse them

NM beat me to the reply :)

If possible, I like to allow 4 hours for such transfers.

Not needing to rush, clean underwear (or at least reversed only 3½ times ) and a QP cappachino (or two) can make these morning transfers, whether by train, b*s or shanks pony a lot more pleasant.

Why not use the inseat power that most pointy end seats have?

Oops - might have confused you with winetraveller...

I'm not sure if I'm meant to be offended! Only joking.

But seriously if you do a lot of long hauls, and I do virtually no internal flights in Oz, but many trans Atlantic flights, then the profile is work on the westbound leg, sleep on the eastbound. I used to do London-New York (preference for EWR) twice a week as I lived in London but was, at that time working out of Manhattan.

I have a groovy new Sony Vaio tht has about 4+ hours batt, but generally can find power, and utilise power in seat. Excuse typos as using Blackberry and it's a pain to go back and correct.

I never need to use lounge pc's with combination of Crackberry and laptop. Work happens in bites, and it's best to make the most of those when you can.

Late, late nights and early mornings are very common. But this time next week I'll be home in Melbourne with my darlin'.

I think that I have sat next to some of you.........:p

I was worried they were going to get more weeks by wearing them on the outside, superhero style.

What an idea - mind you, all the "Good" hosties seem to have been suspended hopefully with full pay :)

Hello gaia,

You mentioned in another post (the impossible dream) that you fly more than 100 international flights a year with QF....

So if i can be a little rude and ask....

1.) What do you do (if you can say), i did think courier, anti terrorist security person, maybe a Rockwell Collins engineer fixing the IFE ;)
2.) Do you eat the food ?
3.) Do you use earplugs, noise cancelling headphone, ipod, or watch the same movie over and over ?

Can't think of anything else now, but i just thought it would be fun to ask.

Evan

1.) CEO of an Australian company which operates in 10 countries in the Asian region.
2.) Almost never. Thai have an on request fruit platter which is ok.
3.) No earplugs, no noise cancelling headphones, no ipod & yes I've watched all of the movies many times. Usually I just close my eyes and try to sleep.
4.) Never have looked at it and if it ever happens I plan to follow the madding crowd.
5.) I've recently started using Thai. And now I'm considering having a run at Cathay Diamond.

Only thing is i have been flying CX a lot recently and i find J always full (Then again so is every other decent airline) but good service regardless.
What i mean is upgrades could be difficult as is just booking the fare.

Depends on the route. On my last 2 CX flights BKK-SIN there have only been about 8 people in J on the upper deck. There did not appear to be many people in J on the lower deck either.

Too true, i was only thinking if the qoutes to AU and to EU.
I have even turned up to a flight hopeing to score an upgrade or a blocked seat.... almost 3 hours before the flight, the check in woman looked to her right and said those 30 or so people are waitlisted hoping to get on your flight :) and i just said oh.... and sure enough every singel seat on the plane taken except for one vacant F seat that may have been filled i just coun't tell.

But my HKG-PVG on sunday with CX was rather empty in Y, except J was rather full, maybe not completely, didn't pay too much attention for such a short flight.
