Yeah, I am sitting in the QF Singapore F lounge right now while QF32 refuels. The lounge is nothing special.
I'm not even sure that it's worth the reasonably long walk from the gate, not to mention booking a flight just to come here...
if First lounge is not open at the time, then I can recommend the SATS Premier Lounge as being better than the QF/BA J lounge. I used my Diner Club card for entry last weekend. Started in the QF J Lounge and was quite disappointed with the breakfast food choice. I was looking for some steamed buns or dim sum or noodles or similar. QF J lounge had cold sausages and grilled tomatoes, cereal and toast. The SATS lounge has a nice selection of Asian style foods including steamed buns, steamed dim sum selection, noodles etc, and a better choice of beverages (three different juices, soft drinks etc). Was not interested in harder stuff at 8am, but did notice they had FW Black while QF J lounge only had Red.Business Lounge 06:30-23:30; First Lounge 06:30-09:30 and 15:00-23:30
(between 10pm & 3am only 11 flights [in T2], vs 21 in T1 & 27 in T3!)
Interesting - is there an easy & online to figure out those stats (number of flights departing each of the terminals between two times)?
I'd be interested to see what the numbers are like earlier in the afternoon / evening.
Not sure if if the statistics are that easy to compile but Flightstats may come in handy.Interesting - is there an easy & online to figure out those stats (number of flights departing each of the terminals between two times)?

yes, I have used it before when flying JL from SIN to KUL when they used to fly that route. So I had a pretty good idea of what to expect and is why I went there in search of my steamed buns for breaky!JL use the SATS for their flights as well; we had breakfast there before flying to Japan in February. We Took a look at the QF Business lounge (The first lounge was not open at 7am), but walked back next door to the SATS).
Don't know of a place where it just gives you the numbers, but its pretty easy to just look at passenger departures on the Changi Airport website, and do a quick count. You can filter this info by Terminal No, Time of Departure, Airline, City and day (yesterday, today, tomorrow).

I want to know whether my J* Asia boarding pass for my flight early the next day will get me into the Qantas lounge on the afternoon/evening of the day I arrive (the day before my J* Asia flight)?
How do you intend on collecting your J*Asia boarding pass for flight the next day? Even if on-line check in is available (i doubt this is available for J*Asia flights ) you will need to collect the boarding pass at the check in counters.
I had assumed OLCI would be available, and that the BP would be printable at the end of the OLCI process... maybe I didn't think that through far enough, but it's irrelevant now anyway.
For International/Intra Asian flights:
- All passengers on international flights must present their web travel documents, along with any other relevant travel documents, to a check-in agent at the airport. After this you will receive your official boarding pass.
- We recommend you arrive at the airport no later than 90 minutes before your flight's scheduled departure. If there's a dedicated web check-in counter, go directly there. Otherwise, just go to one of Jetstar's regular check-in counters. If you're travelling with bags, you can drop your bags here as well.
- Finally, make sure you arrive at your boarding gate no later than 40 minutes before departure when travelling on Jetstar Airways (JQ) and 15 minutes before departure when travelling on Jestar Asia (3K) or Valuair (VF).

The J*Asia counters only open two hours before the flight and you cannot check in more than two hours before the flight.
What about the transit counter C inside the terminal?
