Hi All

are there any special promotions (other than Macquarie Platinum CC) to get quick and cheap HH points?

thanks

You mean in bulk like FF points upon CC signup? I don't think so if this is the case.

There are however any number of promotions going on a HH at the moment giving 2500 points, double points, triple points/etc. Many are expiring soon so go and have a look to ensure you are eligible.

I believe you can buy HHonors points. They don't seem to be offering any bonuses at the moment but the bonuses have been as high as 100% in the past.

You can buy them, and also can quite often transfer to them .. from amex at least, and probably many others - but I find the cost dubious. Depends on the value you place on HH points. Myself, I only value them at 0.5c each, and thats sell price ... I don't want to buy them for that price.

I'm not aware of any "cheap" way. I also value a HH point at AUD0.005 but that is ambulatory. It can be as poor as 0.3c and as high as 0.8c (others have reported higher). The buy price off Hilton is (IIRC) USD0.01 which is not good value IMHO. When they have the bonus offers though, it does get to a value which, although not fantastic, is acceptable if one needs to stock up on points.

Thanks for quick response
Was hoping there was a cheaper CC offer than $299 annual fee

It hasn't worked out too badly for me. You get 2000 points for every stay from Macquarie and when combined with a good promo such as the triple your points then you can rack up some points quickly. I am planning 6 nights in Fiji next year. 200K points for 4 nights, get one free and the free night certificate = 6 nights.

I find the CC great value. Gold or diamond status depending on spend and a free night anywhere in the system

Same here. I've been getting the diamond 1000 bonus points per stay through 2015. The extra points would have been nice

I got the promo details from my statement and emails.

The promo details are on my +1's online statement too. I was using his credit card and wondered why I was receiving bonus points as there were no emails or notifications.

OK you two, surely you realise it's an offence to have knowledge of promo deals and fail to promptly post it here on AFF? Off to the sin bin for you! ;)

citibank are running a promo 1 hhonors point/ citi point. given you earn 2 citi points/ $1 domestic spent it's basically 2 HH/ $1 spent. promo ends sometime in Jan from memory

EDIT- actually it's even more generous

Limited Time Offer: Enjoy 2 Hilton HHonors™ Points for each Citi Reward Point you transfer by January 17th. That is 1 Hilton HHonors Point in addition to the base redemption rate of 1 Citi Reward Point to 1 Hilton HHonors Point, for a total of 2 Hilton HHonors Points. Each Points Transfer must include a minimum of 15,000 Citi Rewards Points.
