Sounds like one to pencil in:

[h=1]RAAF PEARCE AIR SHOW - 19 & 20 May 2012[/h] AAWA confirmed with RAAF officials in October 2011 that there will be an air show at RAAF Base Pearce on 19 and 20 May 2012.
It is not known at this stage what aircraft will participate.
The last air show at Pearce was held in November 2005. Participants included:

  • US Air Force: B-1B Lancer
  • Republic of Singapore Air Force: F-16C, F-16D, KC-135R, S-211
  • RNZAF: P-3K Orion
  • RAAF: F-111C, F/A-18A Hornets, AP-3C Orions, C-130J-30 Hercules, Hawks, PC-9/A
  • RAN: S-70B-2 Seahawk
  • Civilian aircraft including Westwind of Pel-Air and Learjet 35A of Raytheon, Customs Dash 8, warbirds, etc

Hmmm, pity i will be in the US or i might have taken my young one out there... Never too early to get them interested in aircraft and flying... :)

About a 45 minute drive for me, may be tempted for the Saturday depending on who/what shows up.

I think I will be there, need a visit to the PER IC anyway, its been a while!

I will probably go but am somewhat put off by the parking situation - last time it was a complete debacle. From memory there were options of flying in from PER (which I didn't find out about until it was too late) with Skywest or Skippers or someone like that. If that option was available again I would definitely be up for it.

Sounds like an excuse to visit Perth again

We have one up in FNQ each year at Mareeba, finally went to last one, the RAAF Roulettes were an absolute knockout, talk about awesome precision flying don't miss the chance.

Another nice little tempter. Maybe I can utilise a couple of my free DJ upgrades. The only airshow of any sort I recall attending was at Laverton (VIC) when I was a little kid.

So hopefully I can make it along. Otherwise I'm afraid, for me, it will be a case of "Pearce off".

In the UK a few years ago little sis's hubby was based at Lincoln got some VIP seats in the officers mess for the show. Absolutely brill! B52 & Vulcan Bombers, 2 great planes from different eras. Spitfire & Euro fighters, again significant planes from their time!

Details of the airshow are now up on the RAAF website.

Sorry, can't post the link because I don't have 10 posts.

Considering the DC3 event is held the same weekend, could be tied into that for anyone not booked to fly directly home the following day. Not sure I’d get approval to fly even further from home though! Must visit an air show one of these days.

Would be good as well,

Doing the DC3 and then getting a late flight to PER then get a red eye back on Sunday night back to BNE.

9am back at the office.

SWMBO would not be happy

So do we see you in Mel for the dc3 day Sam ? Or not sure yet

Who has plans to head over and have a look? Anyone know if there will be shuttle flights from PER again this time?
