I transfered some Amex points over to VS Flying Club tonight to book a flight with Xiamen Air. The seats were available online but got an error during the payment processing..
After talking to VS on the phone it is phantom availability.
Question: can we reach out to Amex to reverse the points transfer? Anyone had this experience before?

I'm pretty annoyed now because SQ is no longer available for the dates I wanted too 😤

No.

Don't have any experience with this, but I'm pretty sure Amex make it clear all the time (on the website wording) that once the transfer is completed, it cannot be reversed. Particularly in this case since it's merely a "change of mind" request; it's not like the transfer was done against some rules or in bad faith.

It might be worth calling VS and explaining what happened. Airlines do have the power to reverse transfers, but they rarely, rarely permit it.

I understand the terms but it isn't really change of mind.. the stupid website lied with availability.

When you transfer points you also get this email so I wonder if they can or not. I tried calling them last night but they were closed so will try today.

To tell the truth or to tell them I transferred to the wrong virgin account...

"If this transaction(s) was not made by you or you have any further questions regarding your account, please call Card Services using the number on the back of your Card."

If you go down what (I presume) that path may mean is I see your MR account being locked out while they investigate and possibly for longer.

No luck with Amex.
VS said to email Virgin Red to see if they can process it. Explain the situation and see how it goes. They said it'll take 7- 10 business day. I'm not holding my breath
