Yes, it's actually quite invasive and requires a lot of questions/detail - nearly enough to put me off applying as I went through.

Exactly, if you are just doing it for the points, how are they going to check? They are only going to check if you make a claim (well I guess if you make a claim they might reject it straight away, I should say your relatives make a claim) and possibly reject the claim because you gave misleading information.

But as long as you don't die you will be fine. If you do die, you probably don't need the points.

Most (all) of you are only doing this for the points.
So who cares if you get paid a claim, or if you do or don't disclose any pre existing conditions, all you need to do is survive the minimum period .
And let's face it, If you were serious about needs based advice and proper cover I'm sure you will contact your insurance professional.
As someone already said , it's a no brainer. I wonder if Amex really thought it through.

And that's why I use a broker for my 'real' policies. I like having my claims actually paid.

Yep mine has just posted today as well. Mrs D has just taken up an Amex so better ensure she is also properly insured (can't be overinsured!). The offer is still running until the end of March.

Points posted for me today. Will have another go with a second card sometime before the end of the month. Not sure whether to do it in my name or my partner's (she's a supp card holder).
