I'm looking forward to it as I like the show, but wont buy as much if there isn't a points incentive to do so like last time. I believe it was 50 points per sale!

The first episode is bakery!

The chosen 3 were:

Frozen pre-formed cookie dough
Gallipoli muffins
Brownies

First one out were the brownies as they weren't commercial enough. They estimated $5 a brownie!

Thought it was interesting Jo couldn't legally use the words Gallipoli or Anzac. I mean, maybe I get Anzac because there's already a product using that moniker. But I've never heard of Gallipoli biscuits.

While at the same time they went with Mrs Mills cookies, which is a clear copy of Mrs Fields. Hardly original.

Ultimately, sweet tooth's won again. If have preferred to try to Gallipoli muffin but shall have a look in the freezer tomorrow!

I tried searching info re trademarks but I'm on the iPhone and it won't search for me. I immediately thought it wouldn't be acceptable. I suspect the word Gallipoli has been trademarked in every category.

We wanted to register a trademark that included the word "always" with another word but we were refused because Coke had registered the word in all categories and our IP is in training. :(

Those brownies should never have been considered. Clearly going to be expensive. Plus she was a bit of a fruitcake.

Is anyone else sick and tired of "the story" and the tears?

I might try those cookies but don't like muffins.

I believe that "ANZAC" is protected by specific legislation prohibiting it's use without approval from the Department of Veterans' affairs, unless it is in reference to a biscuit made to a recipe sufficiently close to the original. I wasn't aware that something similar applied to "Gallipoli" although maybe they did something to prevent people exploiting the 100th anniversary for things which are not actually related to it.

At least it's BBQ next week! I just hope it's not a BBQ sauce that wins again (still have some)... as I'd prefer an actual meat :p

I saw 3 of last season's offering are back in store. Unfortunately no chilli con carne. :(

That's such a shame... I know chocorn won, billie's something-or-others were coming back but what's the third? Another sweet thing that Australians don't really need more of in their diet?

That chilli con carne was amazing!

Yep. I bought some of last years brownies a few days ago.

I can't remember the chilli. I bought the popcorn. Once. Isn't s staple. But the chilli might have been.

So I went shopping today for last nights winner! In my store at least, instead of placing them in the freezers next to ice creams and such, they decided next to the frozen peas would make more sense.

At 8 to a pack, they fetched a premium compared to Aunt Betty's, the brand I'd usually go to for cookie dough. Aunt Betty's costs $1.14/100grams but these cost $1.87/100 grams.

Still to come... The taste test.

Tastes great... Just the right amount of gooey inside. That said, my cookies tended to fall apart and my white shorts aren't white anymore. There also wasn't a cherry chunk in each cookie, but when there was it was a lovely surprise.

Gallipoli Biscuits was registered as a trademark in 2010 in the Foods category so this is why they couldn't register Gallipoli muffins.

Good digging there!

It's what I do - manage the IP for our business.:p Lost track of how many trademarks we have. At least with Internet technology we don't have to use IP Lawyers anymore - using them added around $1,000 per trademark.

Couldn't find last weeks winner in Woolies today. Hope they weren't too fabulous.

I was hoping that the butter would win, it's perfect bbq weather right now and I'd give it a whirl.

But at least I saw how he made it so I can just make my own. A stick of butter with lots of tasty things in it, with the whole thing smeared on a bbq steak. That was the serving suggestion, right?
