Looks like the common denominator is that CX look after people more than any other airline and probably more than QF, in terms of high status.

Not sure if origin is a big factor. For us it was ex-HKG. But the specific flight continued to KIX or NRT, I forget. The TPE sector was clearly oversold (so tbh, it was a calculated risk, otherwise we would have paid for J). So possibly worth keeping an eye on loadings more than anything.

I have been recently disappointed with JL and AA on long haul with respect to seat selection as OWE. Never get decent seats in J on JL or AA metal, always seating issues with seat selection 'sticking' etc. Just don't think they really care about other OW carrier status members.

No welcome or special treatment either

With respect to CX, have not received special treatment on long haul J other than greeting. Nil op ups out of 12 long haul legs.

BA - pretty much nothing, as you'd expect ;) exit rows are good of course in Y

I think the big thing on BA is free seat selection at booking. On a DONE4 you wouldn't actually get preselection of seats in J - but as OWS/E you do.
