Sorry, but for SIN I would have to recommend G4 Station in Little India. It's 40m from the MRT entrance, great selection of shops and excellently priced food outlets, and the facilities are great. Place is fully secured, right down to proximity access cards for each level, master key system for the rooms, and large lockers.

Free toasts and jams for breakfast, and free hi-speed internet across the entire property. Also great movie collection, super-cheap drinks, and enough games consoles and games to while away the hours... challenge the FOH staff to Wii Bowling - they won't resist.

I also find that Hostelworld is the best reference point for reviews and ratings on backpackers and low-cost accommodation. Reviews arrive on the popular places every few days, keeping the information and feedback current and relevant.
