For the dinner service, I had the fish as they had run out of any other option. NZ crumbed whiting, served with rice and ratatouille and a Clare Valley riesling.

Thank goodness they remembered the table cloth this time. Although I wasn't entirely happy with how long it took them to clear the tray.

Breakfast - apple and oat muffin, yogurt and a cup of tea. OJ had run out :(

For authenticity, the tea was made in a pot that had recently contained coffee and had not been washed properly :p

Yay! For dinner, I lucked in! Or lucked out. Whichever one means your luck was in. My airline favourite - butter chicken.

The wine was Skywalker Bay chardonnay, recently on special at BWS, 2 for $20. The best thing about it is, it doesn't go noticeably off if you open a bottle but don't finish it for 3-4 days. (Perhaps not a common problem for AFFers :p).

Tonight's authentic full offering, inspired by the current cut-backs in catering:

That one does remind me of when I was on the last Ansett flight MEL-PER the night it went bust at the end of the same week as 9/11. I was in J and we were handed a plastic cup, told to make sure we kept it and we had periodic refills. The caterers had gone bust the day before or earlier that day, so it was water only and just enough cups to go round.

Very sad flight. I was damn lucky to get home.

Inflight caterers should expand into food delivery during this period of home isolation...
It would be better than some of the hotel detainee meals Ive seen online (which I believe is provided by hospitals)
