On a related topic, is it possible to redeem velocity points for gift cards at either of the supermarkets? Could swear this was an option before but cannot see it anywhere in the e-store,

It wouldn't surprise me if they removed the option. Velocity does make changes from time to time to the range of gift cards available on the rewards store, as well as the amount of points needed and denominations/amounts available.

I also noticed recently that they hiked up the number of points needed to make a charity donation.
