Redemption Envy

I'm sitting here in Brisbane and just looked at the available seat allocations on Mrs Albatross's overnight F flight to SIN-Europe. (she left BNE this afternoon) Looks like she will be the only pax in the SQ F cabin on 777ER. It is going to be a flight for her to remember and should get me a few more good years of marriage!

More interestingly though I think it doesn't bode well for the world's economy, she's on a KF miles redemption and the world's corporations are tightening their belts (again).

On my last 2 trips, both on A380 ex SYD, Suites was 0 and 1, J was only a quarter full.
The latter was on the All J upper deck too.
According to check in agents, its been like this for the past few months.
Anecdotally, it seems Suites and First is indeed in the doldrums,
despite the fact that Suites now cost the same as F in dollars.

I am hoping that SQ will run the same redemption offer they had back on 2009:
50% off some routes, and 25% off all routes.
Or, what we all want: Savers across the board, permanently.

Those A388 all J upper decks must have a little bit of room for a few token J Savers. I'm holding out for a redemption 'special' to MXP or ZRH in October.
