at 0.75 its not bad
but Anz black is 1ppd, but transferring to qantas, up to 7.5k per monht

That 7.5k cap is what prevents me from going for the card. Not worth the AF just to earn an extra 1312QFF/month* over the Dragon. Signup bonus notwithstanding.

*Calculated as 7500*1 (ANZ) - 0.825*7500 (Dragon+bday bonus)

What’s the annual fee for the dragon ?

Hi potm. Yes I received a letter, but I don't recall anything about doubling of points. I shredded it in anger... I'll call up and use Live Chat again and see what response I get. Thanks.

I cancelled mine a few weeks ago, will resign in a year (if its 12 months exclusion)

Was it for your charge card? You’ll receive a separate letter for each card account.

Hmm ok thanks. I have the Citi signature free for life but I think it’s 0.5ppd?

If this is the Signature Visa that comes with a $395 AF (sans discounted signups) then a free version is pretty good. You just have to work out if that 0.325PPD differential can offset the cost of signing up for a Dragon based on your spend. For me it certainly does.

For smaller spenders the Coles MC is great, $99 pa, no monthly points limit and 1VFF/approx 0.75KF when they have a Flybuys offer on (but will be down to around 0.64 KF when the transfer rate decreases later in the year), and free international transactions still earning rewards. I've found the free same day Coles delivery (save $18 per delivery) a huge bonus too. The less said about their customer service the better, though.

Just checked with the Live Chat, and they again have confirmed, as a Platinum Charge Cardholder, I am not automatically entitled to the doubling of points. Maybe it's because I only started at the start of this month.

As Amex points lowers does this mean they will compete with Visa and Mastercard on vendors charge fees?

Lowering merchant fees is supposedly one of the reasons for the devaluation. Make of that what you will.

Ok, so I've held Platinum Charge since the end of last month, and when I called up to see if the value of my points will be 'protected' he said No. But call us again in March and we will see what we can do for you...

My points balance is 2m+, mainly because they combined my Explorer/Edge points with my Ascent Premium points.
I've had the Charge for nearly two years but put most spend through Explorer so I was a little worried about getting the points doubled. The letter finally arrived and they will be doubled. As with everyone else no doubling on Reserve, Explorer or Edge. Fortunately Explorer and Reserve credit to the Charge's Ascent Premium account, but the Edge is in husband's name and in Gateway, so they'll need to be redeemed by April.

Made it worthwhile to be persistent to get Explorer points credited to Ascent Premium at the time....took about 4 calls as I recall. But the Explorer will become redundant in April.

And the vendors might decide to not pass them on to customers ...

If you are referring to the merchant fees, then vendors would have to reduce any surcharges in line with the fees they pay as required by law. They can only surcharge the actual cost of processing the payment.

Legalllt yes, but i think it hasnt or cant bw enforced

Jbhifi charge 2.45%

Some merchants as low as 1.2% i believe.

So jbhifi must be profiting
