you should be getting letters in the mail too if it's indeed about the offer
using common sense, if letters were to be going out, youd have to assume, they should be arriving no later than 1month before D-day,

cant imagine letters arriving 3 days before, otherwise it would be a logisitcal chaos

wondering if many people are trasnferring to velocity to take advantage of the lack of expiry compared to kris

100% going to SQ from my Explorer. If I have to take a couple of short trips to Asia or beyond in suites in 2022 to burn any expiring points then well, that's a sacrifice I'm prepared to make.

A sacrifice I too am more than happy to take on :)

I'm sure something can be engineered within the 3-year expiry period to keep the miles tumbling around forever and ever and ever...
Edit: to clarify, I mean methods of generating more points, not extending existing points in KF beyond the one-off, paid 6-month extension option.

And so me three - all of mine going to KF!

Hmm, not sure whether the 3 year expiry can be extended, KF is extremely strict about that (so much so that the expiry is noted even on miles that are redeemed for award tickets, so that in the case of a refund of those miles they still carry the original expiry date).
Unless I'm severely mistaken and someone has figured something out?

thanks for the feedback guys, I was seriously considering transferring to velocity, but all the unknowns and difficultues compared to booking via kris had me rethinking,
im weighing towards a kris transfer as well! :)

Whoops sorry! I didn't mean it in that sense (extending existing miles - though you can pay KF to do a one-off 6-month extension but I digress)

I meant more points-earning opportunities will present themselves in the interim 3 years such that the game won't be over after 3 (or 3.5) years is up.

The 1:1.55 reciprocal rate certainly doesn't help the case for transferring to VA...

...I'm a bit biased though, as I already have over 2.5m in VA so my (zeroed) SQ balance definitely could use a bit of a top-up.

I do also and where that you can extend Kris points but the fee and limit is quite extensive
If you're definitely going to go down the extension path I think velocity would be a good option

I'm in the exact opposite situation is to you:)

Used online chat earlier today enquiring about points devaluation and in less than 1 minute I was recognised as a valued card member and offered doubling of my Membership rewards points on 15 June 2019 based on balance as at 15 April 2019.

I'll transfer some to SQ now for use in April and leave the rest there to decide later.

ensure its recorded in your account history and perhaps even ask for a letter to be 110% sure!

Wow - what’s your points balance and do you have a platinum charge?

Assuming you don't get a letter what's stopping American Express from just saying sorry we made a mistake or just playing dumb

Especially with the online chat team, which has a history of just lying.
I still havent worked out whether they ,just make stuff up, or lie for any particular reason, or read off a manual that their supervisor put together when drunk ,

but I remeber, when I was chasing my 100k or so signup bonus a few months after qualifying, I got told, within the next 8 weeks, you will receive the bonus in 15k installments followed by 10k installments,

I was like WTF are you talking about
called an Australian rep, and was credited the 100k bonus within a few days
