Hi everyone,

My grandmother recently passed away. I had already booked a flight to see her for her 90th birthday this June. I have a copy of her obit from the paper which shows that her birthday would have been the next day, and I am listed by first name only as a grandchild.

I'm considering asking VA for a refund of the fare.

Has anyone had any success in a situation like this?

Thanks

:-)

Sorry to hear about your loss. I certainly think it can't hurt to ask.

Sorry to hear of your loss.

I'm not aware of a specific policy but I would definitely call them and ask.

You may be able to get a free date change or "travel bank" credit if a full refund isn't offered.

Anything would be a gesture of good will on the part of Virgin.

Unfortunately, even with insurance, these companies have themselves well covered. You're generally not covered for any claims that come about as a result of death or illness to a relative over 85 years old
