Refund for a non-refundable flight

Hi All,

Looking for a bit of advice. A couple of months ago I purchased a SQ Biz class ticket from MEL-SIN-HKT. At the time, I made the assumption that given it was Biz it would be refundable to some degree. Turns out its not and I now need to cancel. My fault entirely - I should have better read the fare conditions.

SQ have indicated that whilst its not refundable, I can change the date and destination, so I guess its kind of like a credit. That said, I'd really prefer a refund.

Last night I got an email advising of a flight change. Its not huge, its about 3 hours. My question is, do I have any room to try and negotiate for a refund based on the changed flight times? Does anybody know the rules around these sorts of things? I.e. can I argue that the new times don't work for me and simply request a refund that way?

I don't like my chances, but thought I'd ask here before trying to call for anybody with any expirence...

Cheers

I think 3 hours is a significant change. I have changed/cancelled bookings without issue for much less change.

Thanks everyone, called SQ this morning - no issues.

Got told it would be about 6 weeks to refund. Anybody have any expirence to tell me if that's an accurate time frame? Seems quite lengthy....
