Haha, this is a timely post.
Last week I was working in Karratha and stopped by the lounge at KTA on the way home. It was Friday around 9:00am, probably the busiest day for QF due to FIFOs going home to Perth.
The three most important things to me in a lounge are:
- Available seating
- Coffee
- Wireless internet
This is before I even think about food.
Seating and internet were fine, even though the lounge is not particularly glam and has no outlook to speak of. The worst thing was the coffee. There was an empty filter coffee machine, with no supplies in sight, and no staff around. Looked like it hadn't been used for a while. There was a grubby looking, unlabelled jar of instant coffee next to a kettle, with some paper cups. Gross.
i ended up forgoing the 'coffee' altogether and having a Diet Coke - breakfast of champions.
Debated whether to give QF some feedback about the coffee situation.. did not want to seem like a princess (even though clearly I am
). Anyway, decided to give them a few compliments about all the things I love about QF, with a little comment asking for proper coffee in KTA at the end.
Got a call on Thursday (sent in the email on Monday) thanking me for providing feedback and assuring me they would sort it out.
Constructive criticism always seems to go down better with a bit of sugar =)
