Well, not quite. True scientific principle does not say things are 'facts' (or even alternative facts ). Unlike medieval superstition, scientific principles say that the current peer reviewed accepted percept or theory is the best explanation we have of a phenomenon at the present time that allows us to predict future behaviour and explain past events. It's the best humans can do, rationally.
People can believe what ever they like but a lot of science is fact....
