I remember having a Bank book.
With the high tech "black light" sig panel.

Saw one in use a few weeks ago, it was a commbank book and they put it under the light to check the signature, the person with the book was quite old.
 
Doom taught me more about networking computers than 10 years on the job did.

My first computer was the C64 with the 1541 floppy drive. And if anyone remembers the summer and Winter Olympics games got a huge workout in our family.

I also got a loan from the local credit union for my first PC a 386 with a 20mb HDD. Cost about 2k.

Life was much simpler back then.

When I first started work in 1968 at an insurance company in Sydney the computer took up the whole floor of the building, it was a sealed air conditioned floor that mere mortals could not enter. Data processing on to cards took up several floors !

I've heard that the reason air conditioning became widespread in offices was to protect the computers.

I worked at Timezone like business in 85 and made a special joystick, button combo to help play summer and winter games, thank for the memory

Define old? I am only 51 and my brother 48. :shock:

Summer Games... Yes that got a huge workout in my family too.
 
When talking about degrees of age then consider that the computers running in the GPS satellites all have 286 or 386 processors*

*Any recent updates may be using later processors.

We saw Tony Orlando sing the original song-the yellow rose of texas-in Vegas.It was his birthday.I had worked out who to tip by then so we were front row.Loved the show.
