Rental car excess insurance

Hi can anyone recommend rental car excess insurance ? So far in my research prices have varied significantly, $95 - $350 for 22 days coverage in Europe. My concern is not so much the price but not having any difficulties should I need to make a claim.

I'm looking at the same thing for an upcoming trip to the US. I have been relying on my annual travel insurance policy in the past but I noticed that the covered amount is not enough.

I have asked my insurance broker to find me a few good options. Will post the results hear when I find out.

In the past have used worldwideinsure.com. Not sure about claims as haven’t needed to use, but the one time I did have to deal with them (to get an accident on record where uninsured third party was at fault ) they responded quickly albeit as I expected not covered as thrifty was pursuing third party.

Not having to worry about this is one of the advantages of the Amex Plat Charge.
For my circumstances it's one of the reasons it pays for itself and more so. YMMV
A downside with this approach is that you would have to wear any damage and claim back

I'd see it like that too-though I'm the sort who splits transaction to pay the cents on Mastercard in Coles as the Edge only gives points on the whole dollars

Any other insurers/recommendations in this space? I am also looking for rental car excess insurance or a travel insurance policy that has good rental car excess add on.
Please share recommendations/recent experiences.
