I want to rent a car in The Netherlands in July. I'll be driving from Schiphol to Maastricht. From Schiphol to the hotel we're staying in, and then down to Maastricht is about 225km without any stops or detours. Then there's the return trip 2 days later. I understand that fuel in The Netherlands is the equivalent of around $3.60 a litre, so I was considering hiring an EV instead. But I don't know how long it takes to charge an EV, or how close to the airport the charging point would be. Therefore, I'm not sure whether I'm better off paying more for fuel. If the truth be known, I don't actually know how much it would cost me to charge the vehicle at a public charger anyway.
I'll be travelling with someone who's not overly mobile, hence why I'm looking at renting a car vs the train.
I'd appreciate anyone's feedback.
