Restricted EY award seats?

Been some glitches lately. I’ve been following it closely for a few weeks and about a fortnight ago there was stacks of availability in J to/from Asian ports in particular but no F availability but then they all disappeared overnight. About two days later all of a sudden there was tons of F awards showing but no J still and then a few days later the F all disappeared again and nothing has returned yet

Have the same observation.

I was however able to redeem two J tickets to Europe with three weeks' notice for European Summer (Aug 2023/ Sep 2023).

There were F/J awards to London - then everything disappeared and tickets reappeared for MAD & Paris.

Cant see anything from LHR/MAD/BCN to AUH and AUH-BKK. Off peak late Jan. Whilst there are multiple seats on EY

It’s either a big glitch or deliberate from EY.
There is always tons of availability on their short haul Gulf routes in J but they have all disappeared all of a sudden

I've been thinking for a while the EY partnership is probably on its last legs. VA doesn't sell the codeshare anymore...that's gone to QR.

I also can't find EY space through AA or AC either, even though it's "Guest" level on the EY site which should be a partner award. So I don't know that VA in particular is being blocked.

Aeroplan hasn’t had EY J of F awards showing for several months. It’s like EY are only releasing Y awards to partners currently

A mate of mine booked MEL-AUH business class using velocity points 2 weeks ago and departed on Monday.

About 10 days ago they started dropping off. Pretty much instantly the whole lot dropped off. I was checking at around 10:30pm and they were there, next morning all gone.

Yup those were my observations too...was holding off booking as didnt have concrete plans yet.

Looks like EY is only releasing J reward seats to partners close to departure.

Seems to be drip feeding awards to VA. However, most other partners on EY may have 'slightly' better luck having awards released at least a day or two earlier than VA.

Could be either glitch and/or the partnership on the last legs, possibly the former.

Some J EY awards are bookable via Velocity - 10/12 // 11/12 // 12/12 // 14/12 SYD-LHR so they are available.

I have been trying to find Y/J tickets to Europe for next year but looks its all dry and no availability whatsoever.

Just a thought, as the Olympics are in Paris next year could this have any affect on availability? Why would they release too much reward bookings if they can sell to passengers going to Olympics?

I have been looking for flights to Europe too and haven't found any.
