There does seem to be some intangible benefits though.

2 Examples I can cite.

My son who is also a P1 member was travelling from LHR - MEL in J and had a friend on the same flight in Y. His friend was upgraded right through to MEL on both flights. My son did not ask at all, it was offered on check in.

I paid using points for my nephew and his mate to go from PER - LHR. I booked Y and they were both upgraded to J when they checked in. They are still in Europe so I am not certain if they will get the same on their return.

Each individual has their own lifestyle that drives what sort of benefits they would like to see. Personally I spend anything up to 180 nights away from home each year with up to 2 * RTW and 1-2 Asian trips per quarter. Being married with 3 children (Ages 11 -> 5) puts a lot of demands on the family. You miss too many birthdays, anniversary's and other significant events. I'd would personally like to see some additional benefits that could flow to my family to share as a way of saying thank you.

Without a doubt, this is one of the best posts i have seen, QF if you are listening to the comments form your P1 flyers, this is the one to read.

Yes, I am very happy with the phone service to be there when I need it, personal greeting from CSM on board, don't care, I'm here to fly and do the miles to get my destination, quiet seamless service is all I need on board, but what I do want is some benfits for my family who put up with my travel, guarantee me just one trip a year that I can book on my points for a family holiday on QF metal in the class of my choice at my time.

If my kids are happy, I'm happy.
