Review : Noise Hush i7 Headphones.

Purchased two pairs of these and myself and SWMBO used them on our MEL-DPS-MEL trip last week. We haven't used noise cancelling headphones before so don't have a benchmark for comparison, but couldn't be happier with the product for the price. It's the first time I've been on a plane and properly heard the dialogue on the IFE (Virgin tablets). Easy to use, compact, good carry case. Slept in them on the return leg and left the NC function off - they did a good enough job of dulling the engine noise without switching them on.

Thumbs up, they will be coming with me on all flights longer than 2 hrs.

Had these for a couple of weeks now. Overall they're very good for the price. The only major let down, for me, is their audio quality compared to my Bose QC3 units but if you haven't compared them together it won't be an issue. They just sound a little tinny when playing music - bass response is lacking a bit. On IFE this isnt as noticeable as the audio quality in generally not very high anyway. The built-in volume control is great for IFE because inflight messages come through way too loudly on my Bose units, which don't have a volume control dial. The Bose set cost over 4 times as much and aren't perfect either.

Another, minor thing, is that the little blue LED is a little too bright when all is dark. It is like a micro spot light shining down on your shoulder.

The iPod/iPhone/ipad control button works as it should and the microphone seems to be work well too from what other people tell me on the other end of the line.

Overall - I give them a 8 out of 10 mainly because of their price.

A strategically placed small piece of tape might help reduce the glow ;)

I used these on my recent trip to central Europe (on CX, AY and BA). They're fine. Better than my old Sony over-ears. Quite comfortable after 2 hours, even with my large ears. The AY A340 I was on from HKG to HEL had a broken IFE, so was glad I had these and iTunes. Favourable review too from the German engineer across the aisle whom I lent them too.

Thanks to the AFF team our second set of Noise Hush Headphones arrived earlier this afternoon after I realised on Tuesday that I had not been online to purchase them. We depart on our honeymoon to Africa on Saturday and I would not have been happy handing my set over to my 'wife' (still a little weird saying that). A quick message after purchasing to the AFF team describing my plight and I got a return call within 5 minutes to allay any fears of me going in a huff on Saturday. Thank you so very much for the speedy service.

If you have not got a set of these and are looking, get the i7's - most definitely value for money!! :)

Good to hear everyone enjoying the headphones, I was impressed with them during the short time I had a pair.

Tried a pair out this weekend and for the price they are great. I've only tried the Bose in store and they sound fantastic, but can't justify the price tag yet. The NoiseHush provide good quality sound and were comfortable for by 1.5 hour flight. They worked well on takeoff and landing with out the cord.

I bought a pair of these through AFF and tried them out for the first time BNE/SIN/SYD in Economy a couple of weeks ago. I reckon they are brilliant value for the price, and am now ordering another pair for my wife. I cannot compare them to a $399 Bose as I have never used one of the Bose products in flight, but the Bose had want to be damn good at almost four times the price!

Trust me... price aside, they are! :D

Hi Jetlagger,

Yes, we have had Bose audio gear (Lifestyle V Series) in our lounge at home for many years and it is brilliant! Again, pretty expensive, but worth it. I guess I simply don't fly enough these days to warrant spending the extra dough for Bose headphones in-flight! Besides, the older I get the worse my hearing gets! Pretty soon you will see me coming up the aisle carrying one of those old ear-horns you used see in English cartoons about doddery old men.

Agreed, you certainly would have to fly frequently to warrant the expense of the Bose NCH.

Mine seem to get more use off the plane than on it. Most of my family come and grab my headphones when they want to concentrate on something and there is a bit of background noise (normally study of some sort).

I used mine to 'cancel" the background noise at TPE transit lounge on an overnight kip recently.
10/10 for performance

I bought a pair of these last month, after trying a pair of Bose my friend has. The only difference is the ear piece on the Bose is a little thicker, and doesn't hurt as much against my ears when I am wearing my glasses. Otherwise, great value.

And I thought I went upmarket when the FA let me keep my J headset for my next Y flight!

I still have and use them to this day.

Just gave my wife a set of these as gift, she and I have been fighting with them for half hour can't get battery lid off left one downwards, not impressed, any tricks to this?, she is not happy.

See picture in post #11. The cover just pushes downwards. I guess it can be tight when new.

Just purchased a pair (not from AFF shop). Should arrive soon so will be keen to try them out.
Will post here what I think of them.
