2. There is actually something available using an indirect routing, but the Qantas website doesn't display it as an option on the following page. E.g. for AMS-PER there could be something like AMS-AMM-BKK-SIN-PER available, but it only appears if you use the multi-city tool to search AMS-AMM and AMM-PER individually.
This is a really excellent tip. Never knew that might be one of the causes.

For my own curiosity, I checked and Matt is indeed right.

Searching AMS-PER on 29 May gives AMS-LHR-HKG-PER on JL:

Which can be replicated on qantas.com by searching AMS-HKG then HKG-PER:

Yep. I want to visit seat son in DXB every year and best you can do is QF code share on EK metal - so no DSC for me no matter how hard I try.
Are there code shares available from SIN-DXB? Still not going to get you DSC on the second leg, but if you could fly QF from AU to SIN, it would at least get you halfway there.

I (bronze status) find that sometimes the phantom availability is available in the next 24 hour period after the day the flight first loaded on the calendar. ( I hope that makes sense ) Using one of the examples above from levelnine, 30 May 2024 AMS to PER is say showing availability however not when 'clicking' on it. Yet the next day I am able to book the 30 May date.

If anyone has an insight into this it would be greatly appreciated.

Good suggestion. I will look at that and similar routings for my next trip. Thank you.
