Rex in voluntary administration, ending all 737 services

Yep, VH-8JS and VH-8KH is at ASP (both ex MI/SQ and currently in ZL colours). VH-RQG is also in ASP but has been pulled apart for parts (I believe the Rex frame still exists just missing the things that make it fly).

The federal court has granted an extension for Rex's voluntary administration until 30 June 2025.

VH-REX now filed for MEL-WGA. Assuming repainting will be done near "Rexy's house"

Edit: On another note, the other tracking sites has since updated VH-REX's operator to "Virgin Australia".

They must need all that extra time to sift through all the offers they've received from potential buyers. :p
Actually Bonza administrators pulled that line. Something along the lines of ‘large amount of offers coming in we need more time’

It’s basically code for we need more time to find a single person that actually wants to buy it.

These processes do carry many snoops who like to have a peek in the data room and so on.

The REX owned 50% portion of NJE National Jet Express has been sold to LKH.

"On 19 November 2024, regulatory approval was received for the purchase of the 50% shareholding of National Jet Express (NJE) registered to Air Partners Pty Ltd (Administrators Appointed) (part of the Rex Group), by NJE’s existing shareholders and Directors Lim Kim Hai and Tjoa Thian Song. NJE’s Board has subsequently approved the transfer of all the partially-paid NJE shares registered to the Rex Group to Lim Kim Hai and Tjoa Thian Song. With the transfer, which has now been effected, Lim Kim Hai and Tjoa Thian Song own 100% of NJE. It is worth clarifying that even prior to the transfer of these shares, NJE was not a subsidiary of the Rex Group and was not affected by the Rex Group entering voluntary administration. This is evidenced by the fact the business has continued to trade normally since Rex entered administration."

Ex-VH-8ZL (ex-GOL) reported on another forum as off for freighter conversion for a Mexico operator.

Only just off a D check prior to Rex so that would seem unlikely the lessor funding a conversion. You would get a better return leasing it off in the passenger configuration.

Agree, should be worth $250k a month and supply is constrained, the particular Mexican operation has a stack of mad dogs with the majority being DC9s, she would be a bit modern for them.

VH-REX is now back in VA livery and took one heck of a scenic route to MEL this morning. Reported to have the Virgin logo on the inside winglets. Also ironic to see "EX" on the nosegear (alongside the VH-REX rego displayed in the usual spot on VA 737s).

It was probably an acceptance or test flight, where they test that a bunch of things with the plane are working correctly.
Yes that makes sense, we have seen issues with pretty much all other Rex aircraft to date so makes sense to ‘run it in’ if you say.

RQP landed in MEL tonight and is scheduled to make its way to WGA for repainting into VA livery tomorrow* (*Assuming the aircraft doesn't break down again in MEL).

2-HPAG (ex-VH-PAG) has changed ownership from Castlelake Leasing to Aero Capital Solutions (ACS). The later company advertises themselves as a "mid life aircaft" leasing specialist.
The aircraft is currently parked in MZJ (a known aircraft graveyard).
