I was in the Sydney Domestic J lounge yesterday and was surprised to see Rosé available:

None of the reds took my fancy.

And my pet hate: why do they insist on opening 9 bottles of sparkling all at once the moment the bar opens? Most of them go flat long before they are consumed. (First world problem.)

Yes I noticed this back in November (mentioned on one of the lounge threads). About time.

Rose is my wine of choice; and annoys me no end they never have any onboard for QF J passengers when other OW airlines do. It is not like Rose is more expensive than white or red and certainly cheaper than bubbles.

Nice!

I wonder if this is just a seasonal summer thing, or if we'll see this as a new permanent addition to the QF lounge wine rotation?

I thought it had been around for a while? Back just pre-pandemic (Jan 20) I remember having quite a session in the Mel J lounge on Rose due to a massive storm that lead to flight delays then cancellations

My last visit to MEL J lounge (Jan-2022) they had no Rose, I asked.

Also no Rose onboard QF1 or QF8 in August 2022 :( Ive never either bothered to ask on domestic J.

Hope it is permanent and not seasonal - i drink Rose all year round.

Ive never either bothered to ask on domestic J.

Most domestic J flights I've been on it's basically a choice of red or white.

I don't like Shiraz or Chardonnay, and sometimes they are the choices. I'm more a Cab Sav & Sav Blanc person, respectively.

I’m drinking a fat bird rosé in the SYD QP as we speak. First time I recall seeing pink in any QP.

Interestingly, according to Qantas wine website, the QP one is worth an extra dollar per bottle compared to the one in OP’s photo from the J lounge! ($17.99 vs $16.99). It’s not a remarkable wine by any means, but I feel like it’s been a while since I’ve seen much beyond the $10-$12 range in the QP.
