Round The World - First Class

Can't say having a shower on a plane would make it onto my bucket list.........;)
Had it for the first time on a Syd-Dxb trip last year - wonderful! Mr FM refused to have one, as I think he was in your camp, but it is so nice. You wake up from a sleep, have a very refreshing shower (I even managed to wash my hair) and step off the plane feeling fresh as a daisy. I am just about to embark on an F round the world as a one world trip, so couldn't book EK again, but definitely will in the future, just because of the shower!

You washed your hair, during your in flight shower booking?
Kudos to you, FM - once I stopped laughing. :)
I've considered it. But then that's what the DXB spa is for, is it not? :)

I was really keeping an eye on the how many minutes left thingy, but I did it with time to spare. :) My hair is very much wash, scrunch and leave - can't stand all the fussing over hair, but I do like it nice and clean......

I haven't tried the Spa - is it nice?

Once over the DYKWIA Factor, the shower is pretty cool. Nice after 12 hrs to have a shower and feel refreshed for landing. Plus the EK380 bathroom just feels like a proper F bathroom not just a foot wider like QF but 15 feet wider.

I find that there's actually plenty of time and one can simply turn it off while lathering one's hair. Twice now the timer has had a hiccup after 2 mins and reset! I was thinking that I hope the electronics on the rest of the plane didn't do this, especially while I'm all wet.

Havent had had the seat belt sign or bad turbulence in the shower yet.:)

Hey all,

Any suggestions as to who to book with for maximum 'bang for the buck' (e.g. airport transfers, priority customs, etc) plus quality of product (having a shower on Emirates was one I wanted to experience).

Thanks

Qantas will organise free limo transfers to the airport (eg SYD)) and from selected airports such as DXB. You have to book these after you have been ticketed. There is also a priority first check in and express lane through customs as well as access to F lounges. As a country bumpkin I usually have to fly to SYD and stay overnight in the city, so I catch the train rather than put up with crawling traffic from the city to the airport. so I don't do the limo there although I will on arrival in DBX. Because I could not afford to do first out of my pocket I will be doing it on points so I won't be earning points or SC, but you will reap a sh*tload.
