KrisFlyer?

Credit to KrisFlyer, United or Air Canada. You can use all of those programs to book flights on VA or Air NZ. KrisFlyer has generally the cheapest redemptions but Aeroplan offers the most flexibility to combine different carriers onto a single award ticket, etc. With United, the miles don't expire.

Not sure what class of travel you've booked but you also may want to just make sure your fare classes are eligible to earn miles in the program you choose.
