Thanks for your answers. At MKY lounge, is there a lounge exit to security/departure lounge, or do you just walk back out the front door. I've never noticed any door on the back wall of the MKY departure lounge.

On a side note, looking at some pictures of Townsville and Rockhampton airport, Mackay's seems to be a very good regional airport.

There is no exit out the back... have to walk back out through the front door and go through security with everyone else.

Never been to Rocky but been to TSV quite a few times and on my experiences.. both TSV and MKY terminals are so so.

MKY has a very very bad taxi system (one of the worst I have ever encountered) and NO AIRCONDITIONING IN THE MAIN TERMINAL!!! For a fairly large regional airport that is north of the Tropic of Capricorn which handles A320's and 737's full of hot sweaty Whitsunday toursits and miners you would think airconditioning would be a given.

Luckily... the Coral Sea lounge was airconditioned

I was in the gold coast QC on Tuesday, I took a box of very nice chocs in for the counter staff to say thanks for the few times I have been there.

The QF lady I spoke with was being made redundant after 30 years, it was a little sad. Its a pity its going and that QF cant redeploy the staff at JQ.
