Russian around the Baltic with some spice to finish off!

The next day we had lunch across the canal where all the deck chairs were. It was crazy busy inside with an eclectic range of cafes. We did not even think about wild boar sandwiches.
I ended up with Croque Monsieur with duck fat chips. MrP a fancy hot dog.

We were then close to Christiania, an area of hippie squatters for several decades. They have their own self rule. They love their street art - or as we call it - graffiti. Certainly no restriction on buying spray can paint

There was plenty of graffiti which was just not attractive and just the occasional piece that was artistic. It reminded me of a more dumpy Byron Bay. I didn't really feel like taking photos so much. We kept on walking just looking around.

Copenhagen prides itself on its target of being carbon neutral by 2025. They are doing this by use of bicycles (and gosh they travel fast and do not get in their bike lane, or footpath or anywhere else they may choose to go) and generally being green. Yesterday we found out that Green Light District is not anything green but rather the biggest open illegal selling place for marijuan_. . I felt a little like nanna naively stumbling into such a place and as MrP pointed out later, controlled by gangs. Google Pusher Street. It was closed late last year due to multiple shootings from the gangs. But the gangs are very much back in force with dark glasses and scarves. Before I realised what it was I was taking a photo only to be approached by a security guy. No problems and we kept on walking through all the various stalls selling - well, everything pot. And of course the smell as people smoked. Was a bit concerned we'd end up smelling like it as we boarded the ship.

We ventured a little further and thought we'd quit while ahead. We thought these would better suit.
To be honest, they were quite expensive and have tasted better in Australia.

Easy to obtain in Christiani.

Last night we had dinner at Qsine, another 'pay for' restaurant. It was more of an experience than a culinary journey.
First off you order from an iPad. One person is designated Captain to push the order button but everyone is given an iPad.

Nice view from the restaurant.

The selections

Each colour is a different meal - eg

I can post them all if anyone is interested but will just do our orders now.

Our final selection. They are entree size.

:o. Clicked 'post' accidentally and now can't add photos.

First up.

Meh. I'm not a seafoodie.

Next. Painters Mignon. This turned out to be the best dish

These were pretty good except the waiter dropped one of the cones and stuff fell onto the floor and not replaced until we'd finished.

Next table had these

The table across the way had this box arrangement but I don't know what it was. (It was chic night last night and this girl looked gorgeous.)

Then this

Fail. But the rice was ok :o

Last two served together.

We could not keep the skewer at our table
ImageUploadedByAustFreqFly1500182096.173128.jpg

Love Indian but this was tourist curry. The buffet serves much better curries. Hot and spicy. The chicken on the skewer were large chunks of chewy chicken. Fail.

Sweets were from a cube you had to puzzle out.

I had this - the surprise
ImageUploadedByAustFreqFly1500182273.226194.jpg

MrP this
ImageUploadedByAustFreqFly1500182312.841834.jpg

My dessert
ImageUploadedByAustFreqFly1500182364.018322.jpg

ImageUploadedByAustFreqFly1500182386.652512.jpg

Looked ok but not sure what it was meant to taste like as it was bland.

MrP had to decorate his own cupcake.

ImageUploadedByAustFreqFly1500182450.027754.jpg

ImageUploadedByAustFreqFly1500182476.622510.jpg
He quite enjoyed it.

And then we were offered these.

ImageUploadedByAustFreqFly1500182518.791123.jpg

After we'd ordered we'd been discussing as to whether using iPads was the way of the future as it would save orders being messed up etc. It was quite ironic as shortly after ordering the waiter returned to our table and had to take it himself as the chef had deleted our order from the iPad. There you go!

Last night we were pitching around. I think because we were going so slooow it made this worse.

Just arrived in Oslo. It's 7am.

After a week in the Baltic MrP is doing Scandinavian design work on his breakfast. Minimalist at best.
ImageUploadedByAustFreqFly1500193275.313178.jpg

Our packs of Vegemite come out every breakfast.

Apparently it is going to be 29c in Amsterdam on Wednesday. Perfect for a night canal cruise and dinner.

It's 11.15 and we still haven't budged from the breakfast buffet. I think if this was the final couple of days before our holiday ends then we would be off our touring. But it's drizzly outside and we still have Amsterdam, London and Sri Lanka to go so I can think of worse things to be doing on a lazy Sunday. But the staff look like they want us to leave. Oh well. It's soon lunchtime isn't it?
Apparently the sail out from Oslo is supposed to be lovely. Weather is supposed to be clear by then.

...and on the walk home,...
....a delicious if ever so mildly green tinged Chocolate brownie for dessert,..

...'apparently' lots of local coffee shops have them ;)

Well funny you should say that. I think they are called Koffee House? My SIL messaged me this morning to avoid them. Which of course means that's where we need to go. :D

Wisdom says, share a slice between yourselves (2pax).
Then drop a pin on google maps as to where your hotel is.

Then, chillax

Our hotel is right near the house of Anne Frank. So easy to find. But right next to a canal. Splash. :D

Still here at the breakfast buffet that has now morphed into lunch. :o. Rain is clearing and I need a Norwegian fridge magnet. Only place I didn't get one was Germany. Saw none at all.

Near the Pullitzer hotel. We were going to stay there but they went and left SPG 3 months before our arrival.

Maybe I should've suggested experience suggests...

As it might just be a simple 'chocolate brownie' , but unless you partake occasionally, or have previous experience to prepare oneself, then...

My wisdom might suggest flying in Y or J, rather than going straight to F class ;)

Believe me, have misplaced many a hotel in my 'early' days
