The next day we had lunch across the canal where all the deck chairs were. It was crazy busy inside with an eclectic range of cafes. We did not even think about wild boar sandwiches.
I ended up with Croque Monsieur with duck fat chips. MrP a fancy hot dog.
We were then close to Christiania, an area of hippie squatters for several decades. They have their own self rule. They love their street art - or as we call it - graffiti. Certainly no restriction on buying spray can paint
There was plenty of graffiti which was just not attractive and just the occasional piece that was artistic. It reminded me of a more dumpy Byron Bay. I didn't really feel like taking photos so much. We kept on walking just looking around.
Copenhagen prides itself on its target of being carbon neutral by 2025. They are doing this by use of bicycles (and gosh they travel fast and do not get in their bike lane, or footpath or anywhere else they may choose to go) and generally being green. Yesterday we found out that Green Light District is not anything green but rather the biggest open illegal selling place for marijuan_. . I felt a little like nanna naively stumbling into such a place and as MrP pointed out later, controlled by gangs. Google Pusher Street. It was closed late last year due to multiple shootings from the gangs. But the gangs are very much back in force with dark glasses and scarves. Before I realised what it was I was taking a photo only to be approached by a security guy. No problems and we kept on walking through all the various stalls selling - well, everything pot. And of course the smell as people smoked. Was a bit concerned we'd end up smelling like it as we boarded the ship.
We ventured a little further and thought we'd quit while ahead. We thought these would better suit.
To be honest, they were quite expensive and have tasted better in Australia.
