<snip> I'm also assuming there's lots of cases of people losing phones down seats if that is now part of the security briefing!?

Given potential for crunched phones -> potentially battery in contact with dust & debris, although low probability, it probably had gotten the attention of some safety chap.

What if the truckie is an avid reader of AFF and knows the tricks on how to fly at the pointy end when he travels?! Then all your wondering is moot.

Great video Qantas!

Yep. There's the truth of AFF. :p

Can I also say... and I know Im being a cough... I was sitting here thinking whats with the guys without teeth. "The common man/aussie" has to have missing teeth? I don't get it.

While all the characters (not actors) in the video are proudly Australian locals, you may be interested to know that they represent over 20 nationalities.

Some Aboriginal men participate in initiation ceremonies that involve teeth being removed. It’s considered a symbol of status.

Couple of other things I noted - the demonstration of brace positions; the brace with arms-folded and rest head against seat in front of you had nothing in front of them, so that's got potential to confuse infrequent flyers. I'm also assuming there's lots of cases of people losing phones down seats if that is now part of the security briefing!?

I had to borrow a pair of tongs from the valley to retrieve the Bose QC25 adapter from the side of the Skybed2. 3 hours before landing so cabin lights were out. Used iPhone led light. Was on hands and knees in case it fell all the way down. Found it in the side frame of the Skybed

I really enjoyed this new series.. Red Roo.. Please pass my enjoyment to the relevant team on this great video! :)

One change I noticed is that the "it is a requirement that you keep your seat belt fastened at all times while seated" has changed to "we recommend".

Great video. Well done QF team!! Can't wait to see the various versions (long, short, different locations) on my flights soon.

I love it!It may seem too long for some but, as a person that ALWAYS watches the safety video, this one felt shorter. Admittedly, I do sneak a peek out the window occasionally when it's running but this one will have my full attention as the sights are wonderful. Well done, Qantas!

Actually it was the truckie and the vet/farmer at the beginning that I notice lack of teeth, I didn't take any notice at the Aboriginal part because again, too long.

Fantastic video QF, really different but refreshingly different. Well done!

I was driving to work this morning, listening to the radio and some one was talking about this new QF safety video. Ironically to my right was a Qantas employee texting and driving

Cute video, but much, much too long, so I'm relieved to read there are shorter versions for use on board.

I liked it as well. It is a little long though. Just worried the FA's have enough time to show it and sit down before take off.
ALso i know some planes dont have screens but just play the audio and have crew doing the demo. I guess some of it will be lost on those flights

But on the whole great effort. :)
