Hi all. I have been a long time reader and now a first time poster. So, I am wondering if I would be allowed to use the Qantas Lounge if my flight is at 1.15am. Say I get to the lounge at 9pm or 10pm will I still be allowed to go in? By the way, traveling to Japan on Jetstar and have complimentary passes. Thanks in advance!

If you're using the pass for access to that flight after midnight, you should be fine, although I have heard occasionally of those using passes only being allowed to access the lounge a set number of hours before... 4 hours may be pushing it!

In airline terms the 'day' ends something like 2 or 3am. So flights leaving after midnight are considered the same as the previous day. On that front you'll have no problems. For any access restrictions in terms of total time allowed you'll need to look at the pass itself. The complimentary passes you get for things like silver membership have no time limit. I don't know if the ones QF offers to sell you as part of your booking have a time limit (but this would be stated on the pass or accompanying documentation).

Welcome aboard!

Which airport are you leaving from? Because QF lounges often close when they call boarding for the last QF flight and don't stay open for later JQ flights.

I assume you are on JQ23 MEL-NRT. If so you will be able to access the MEL lounge. It closes at 23:30 though.

Thanks for all the responses! Much appreciated.

Yes, that would be correct. Do you know if the lounge starts to wind down before 11.30pm? I'd like to know if it is worth going or should I save my pass for another time? Thanks once again.

Yup, I will be traveling with hand luggage only.

Probably won't help as you'll still need to get a BP at the airport desks.
Personal opinion : if you're traveling again during the validity of your lounge pass I'd keep it for then.

Was in there the other day and the front reception staff mentioned later closing hours on the JQ Japan flight.

Not too sure if it is this one

Nice one
This post from Red Roo suggests you are correct :)

I would imagine this would have something to do with any Business Max customers on the flight, as they would have access by virtue of their ticket?
