Pity android no longer supports SD card storage.

I bought iPad Air but plan to buy the Tab S too. JB Hifi has just the white colour. Prefer the bronze. Not sure if that's available in Australia.

I'm not sure I follow what you mean markis10? I have several Android devices, including the Tab S, all with MicroSD cards installed and operational. Was there some feature that no longer works?

OS is Android. Internal memory (standard) is 16 GB but device houses micro SD slot and its memory can be expanded up to 128 GB.

Since when?

Since the release of Kit Kat, where Google are turning off previously available features.

If your device has user-accessible internal flash storage, your SD Card is a secondary external storage device.

What this means is that with KitKat, applications will no longer be able create, modify, or remove files and folders on your external SD card. As a for-instance, you can no longer use a file manager to copy files from your computer to the SD card over a network. This ability, which has existed since the beginning of Android, has been taken away.

Interesting, but given its a software modification, it'll get resolved easily enough.

i would take the samsung hands down - i use an ipad and a samsung note 2 and iOS just seems to become more and more un-user friendly as time passes

Depends on if you want something that used to be fashionable, or something that is going to be functional.

what i hate about IOS is apple forcing apps on to you, Apple watch, health and you cant uninstall their cough

The Tab S was reformatted yesterday for improved performance. Battery which drained to 15% from full charge within hours is far better.

I have the tab s and battery life is awesome... Little miss 7 has a iPad mini and we have to charge it every day. Yes it does get more usage than mine

I bought my Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 when it was launched almost two years ago (and ditched my iPad Air) and have never looked back. The widescreen is excellent for watching video on the plane etc and it was a shame they dropped it (to copy the iPad) for the Tab S2. For overall usability, it flogs the iPad into a pulp.

With extreme heavy use over those almost two years, the battery life is not as good as it once was however (but it has clocked over 1800 charges to date). I can still get a full PER-East Coast flight of usage with plenty of battery to spare.

I am looking to replace it in the near future but if nothing better arrives on the scene, I might just get the battery replaced. It would be nice if Samsung would upgrade it to Marshmallow but I do not think it will be upgraded.

We knitted out our field team with Samsungs 18minths ago to save money. We are now pulling them and switching back to Apple. Basically stability, user functionality and security were the key reasons for dumping them.
If you want to save money (yes Apple is premium you pay for the brand) and just do the basics no probs with Samsung, go for it!

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 is the only tablet secure enough to obtain US Military clearance, so I would think it would be secure enough for most businesses in Australia.

I have had no real stability issues with any of my Samsung Android devices and user functionality is far better than anything Apple has produced, provided you spend a little bit of time to learn how to use the device.

Strange that i had a number of apps previously which are no longer compatible with device after reformatting. One is Westpac corporate, another is Amex Au. Anyone has clue about resolving this?
