Never been myself. But have had friends who visited Chile and loved it.

However the greater attraction is that the whole of the South American is available with easy connections through the LATAM network.

Yes, definitely, but I wouldn't fly all that way just to visit Santiago. Consider it the gateway for an entire continent, or even just Chile; there's enough there by itself.
