Actually Qatar intercepted Saudi reports and notified the US.

I don't think that the US would take kindly to people going around their base.

Though I would predict that attempting to go through the base would have been taken even less kindly.....
As a previous head of Exxon the Secretary of State at the time would have had serious contacts within the Saudi power structures. Rumors abound concerning why he and Trump parted ways.....

Though Saudi Arabia was Trump's first overseas visit.The Saudis were upset with the US for the Iran Deal.He certainly has them onside.

I also read the Saudis had motives to get into the Qatari monetary reserves as the Saudis themselves are feeling the pinch.

And for whatever reason it seems that no real evidence has been provided (atleast to the international public) regarding these so called “terrorist financing.” If it was that clear cut, you’d think the individuals concerned would have been “done away” with by now.

Isn't it mainly about the Qataris supporting the Muslim Brotherhood and that's why Egypt is involved.
