Saver Awards to/from Oz appear to have dried up!

I think a lot of us are trying to beat the devaluation on 5 July.
I need a IST-SIN-BNE in May 2023. I am 90% sure of my dates.

If something happens and I need to change the date what is the worst case scenario?
Change online, pay the extra miles caused by the devaluation?
Have to call them and get stuck on hold forever?
What fees would be involved? I got confused by all the special Covid fee waivers and such.

The one good thing about being retired is an ability to plan trips in advance with some certainty that the dates will not change due to work commitments - as long as I remain healthy. Looking at SIN-MEL this morning for late June '23 shows Saver F available on all 4 flights and @Cruiser_Elite will be happy to know they are all operated by B777 - no 380s for MEL though - but no Regional 350s either. Booked one as a place holder to change the date later at the 'old' rate.

Recent posts give the distinct impression that savers to/from OZ are flowing again. Yay.

That's the way I read it, as long as it's only a date change. No change to flight numbers or routing.

My understanding is that for non status pax, there is the cancellation fee ($75usd per ticket I believe).
The bigger catch here is if you are using expiring miles. If you have miles expiring July 2022 which are used in the booking, and later cancel that booking, say in August 2022.. The miles aren't returned as those expiring miles are expired in July 2022, not rolled forward. This contrasts to miles that sit in the account, unused, that then get rolled 6months until the new expiration dates extension. You can change the dates instead of cancelling to avoid this, but note the maximum deadline anyway from date of ticketing

Can't find Saver F Syd-Sin-Lhr but found 2x Adv F Syd-Sin-Lhr oneway both sectors on the A380.....only catch is 275K pts x2 plus 2x a couple of hundred $ in taxes etc....so 550K points for 2 Syd-Sin-Lhr in F oneway both sectors on A380....shall I???! Will blow more than 25% of my points balance though...

So shall I book CE?

kpc far be it from me to tell anyone what do with SQ rdpt bookings - as for paying R/F Adv I have done so and will continue to do so - I have no crystal ball as to what SQ will do in terms of Saver inventory going forward - it won’t be any more liberal I would have thought.

Until ALL Carriers get back to something resembling pre Covid capacity and frequency I really think SQ Adv rates will be more the norm than Savers - I hope I am wrong - again people just miss the point of halving of SQs R/F capacity - this was always going bite severely sooner or later

So should you book? If I really wanted to fly that dest and dates yes I would secure them - a Saver alt may pop up later - can always modify plans then

From the FAQs attached to the media release:

If I make changes to my ticketed redemption booking on or after 5 July 2022, which mileage level will apply?

Changes to flight date on or after 5 July 2022 will not require additional miles.

For example, a member has an Economy Saver redemption ticket issued before 5 July 2022 from Singapore to Bangkok for travel on 1 September 2022.

Member may change his flight date to 15 September 2022 after 5 July 2022 without paying additional miles*, provided award type and itinerary remains unchanged.

Other changes made to the itinerary on or after 5 July 2022 will be calculated based on the revised award levels.

For example, a member has an Economy Saver redemption ticket issued before 5 July 2022 from Singapore to London for travel on 1 September 2022.

After 5 July 2022, member would like to change his routing from Singapore to Paris. The miles required for the change in routing will be calculated based on the revised award levels.

*Additional service fee of USD 25 of 2,500 KrisFlyer miles will apply for selected services rendered offline by an Singapore Airlines office or reservations hotline.

I booked for May next year. I won't have to change it as long as there is still availability in the other flights needed but I won't have the miles to book them until next month. Fingers crossed!

You are probably right I'm just writing based on what I remember reading on blogs or forums previously. Certainly not talking from first hand experience

Question on additional stopover for $100- can I ring up SQ to add additional stopover after a booking has been ticketed, or does it have to be done at time of redemption? If the latter that would mean only able to complete booking via SQ agent given the additional stopover isn't available on the website?

Surprise, surprise, now that the price increase has happened I'm seeing (a limited amount of) Business Saver availability again on routes like SYD-SIN...
