Saver Awards to/from Oz appear to have dried up!

Does anyone know if there is more award availability booking via krisflyer compared to velocity?

Tossing up whether I should convert points.

Velocity has access to KrisFlyer Saver award seats. The more expensive Advantage seats (which have more availability) are only available to book through KrisFlyer.

This advice only applies if you want to book travel on Singapore Airlines. Velocity and KrisFlyer have different partner airlines so obviously availability will differ for partner airline awards.

Anyone tried booking 4x Advantage F (booking 2 then booking another 2 on the same flight) to anywhere? Use to be achievable when Savers (2x Saver + 2x Adv) were available pre-covid but everything has changed now and only Advantage is available in F.

Is it easier to find availability through Velocity? I wonder if I should stop transferring to Krisflyer in the future now that the partnership has returned.

We have quite a few times. In F and R but only through PPS. Have a few lined up this year and next. Including one flight with 4 R at advantage and 2 cash fares.

I can’t see any award availability for Syd to LHR next year in any class, any date, even economy! Can’t be right can it? Anyone else getting the same? Looking via Singapore app, not Velocity.

How are you checking. There would be heaps. Just did a random day and it shows them available each day

That’s weird, put in exact same dates, got message ‘nothing available on your dates….’. Maybe it’s an app issue. Usually there are heaps, that’s why I was puzzled.

Definitely an app issue. I had the same issue for syd-sin-muc next year. App does not show availability but website does.

I was using the app on my iPhone. I also tried it on my iPad and on a website. All showed the same

You can find seats via Velocity but you can always check both Websites before deciding to transfer points to Krisflyer

Looking for economy saver for wife and daughter to return from Bangkok to Brisbane for last term of school here in October.

First availability on KrisFlyer is Saturday 22 October but is an overnight transit in SIN and does not arrive until Monday morning. Monday 24 October has Saver availability to arrive Tuesday 25 October.

These same flights also available on with Velocity for 35,000 points per person + $96.

So either 61,000 Amex points + AUD100 or 35,000 Velocity points + $96 per person. Out of interest can I transfer Amex to Velocity at 1:1 ratio?

The only advantage I can see booking on SQ is that I can also request Saver on waitlist on earlier days but building house has stalled considerably so not sure girls can come back any earlier.

Qantas no availability until November. So much for saving hard earned points.

2 Amex Membership Rewards points = 1 KrisFlyer or Velocity mile

Is SQ holding back Saver availability from VA? I'm seeing PER-SIN available on Saver w/o waitlist, but nothing on VA on the same dates. Or maybe is this one of those situations you badger a VA CS for answers?

It's a bug with the VA website. You should be able to book SQ224 with Velocity points but will need to call Velocity.

Please let us know if you're able to book over the phone with Velocity.
