Yes and they want to build one in Perth !!

The New Southern Rail Line was opened three months before the 2000 Olympics. Went broke the same year.

Now profitable for the current owners with subsidies paid for by the state governments.

Too much debt and not enough passengers.

Perth should get rail line but as part of the Govt suburban system, not built and run by a private company.

It needs to be built as a social service not a money making venture.

The Thornlie spur line works well.....

A 40 minute bus ride previously to right outside of my office now is a 1h 30 minute ride.

A bus to the train station, a bus or train to the city and then a bus to my office.

Not any more ... I now drive.

Public transport in Perth is pathetic, over priced and never convenient
