A pop up advertisement is coming up on this site appearing to look like a legitimate mailbox message waiting for you. When you click on it you are advised that you are the winner of a $3,000 travel package.

To cut a long story short it appears they get you to pay $898 of the package valued at $3,898 and all you have to do is attend a 90 minute time share presentation while on the trip. They require you to pay the $898 immediately, they will give you no time to think about it or check them out.

Naturally I declined, but checked them out and there are various sites indicating it is basically a scam. If you do take it up you stay in run down accommodation which doesn't feature as presented. If you go on the associated 2 night cruise or other things there are 'booking fees' which takes the price to what you'd probably pay anyway.

AFF should stop this pop up from appearing on the site.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

AFF Supporters can remove this and all advertisements

sounds like you have a virus or malware on your machine, the AFF website itself wouldn't be producing this popup

No doubt someone will mention that if you become an AFF subscriber you'll get NO ads, ever. Always an option ;)

Other than that, investing a couple of dollars into an adblocker is worthwhile. You'll never stop these scams from turning up in all sorts of odd places.

Some pop-up ads do appear for visitors. We don't actually control what these ads are, but they do meet our ad. providers "acceptable standards"

As a registered user, you should not be seeing any pop-up ads. And yes, in addition, our paid members see no ads :)
