Unfortunately it’s quite common for companies to ring and then ask for security details. I’ve generally given up arguing as it just wastes time. Most details like name and address etc are public knowledge anyway, and good companies will only ask for partial security information... for example one or two letters of a maiden name. By themselves these one or two letters aren’t enough to access my account, so I just go with the flow (but making sure that if i have multiple calls from the same company i never reveal the full security information indirectly). I recently opened a new account with Citi and must have had about five or six calls from them. All trivial, frustrating and annoying, The first time they asked for identification (cold call) I insisted i ring them back. It just wasn’t worth my while. Subsequent calls i just rolled with it, but they only ever asked for the same two letters of the maiden name. So it was fine.

There were actually 2 separate emails, one quoting part of a mobile number, the second relating to a landline number. The first originated from a Korean server, then routed through Japanese servers. The 2nd originated from an Indonesian server then routed via different Japanese servers.

Worst scam idea ever. When you actually think about it, the black-mailers are targeting people who would be IT savvy enough to own and understand Bitcoin in the first place, and would never be stupid enough to fall victim to a widely known and published blackmail scam.
