Scams like these

A lot of taxi scammers at MEL this afternoon.
Call me paranoid but I only pay taxis in cash
If they wont provide a receipt they wont get the cash

Seems to take 4 weeks to receive one's new medicarfe card...
You are given a card automatically online to use and print effective immediately.

We aren’t helped by the various institutions that insist upon a complete ID set just so that you can order a pallet of toilet paper. I was recently filling out something for my mother, and they wanted Medicare, passport, driver’s licence, date of birth, and just about anything else you could think of. I decided she didn’t need to use them and moved on.

So of-course you took 5 seconds to report to Whatsapp?
Click the 3 Dots, select Contact Info, scroll down to the RED instructions and select REPORT
Only someone who uses Whatsapp would know that though. I’ve never had any cause to use it, so I guess many others would be the same.

Queensland have just introduced a new "security" feature when one uses one's drivers licence as a form of ID. They are touting this as 2FA. It's not. It's just somewhat silly and giving hackers even more info to steal..

Time to have a proper electronic 2FA system for this things.

The OP received the message on Whatsapp hence is a user. Handy information if they were not already aware how to do this.

Hmm, the post looked more it was received as an SMS message to me. But I am not a Whatsapp user, so nothing really to compare with other than regular SMS messages.
Yeah, that could have been a hyperlink to anything looking back at that post now…☹️

Seems I’ve pleasuring my self whilst visiting adult sites, all caught on camera, pay to a b!tcon yeah, right, I’ll do that! :)

Do people actually fall for these?

As an aside, Medibank was sold off so how can it be “Overpaid public servants, part of bloated government/s job-for-life bureaucracy?”

You're right. Still doesn't quell my dismay I wasn't a government fatcat now living high on the hog of a guvmnt pension. ;)

Actually @prozac you are not necessarily wrong. When government business is privatised there sometimes a clause to quarantee ongoing employment for at least some of the staff.
Of course I have no idea if that happened with Medibank.

guvmnt pension
That actually fit into this thread.
For a defined guvmnt pension, it has been estimated to require $10m of capital to cover the pensions
However at the same time, the Govt is looking to claw back the superannuation of the non goverment side. Moves are afoot to increase taxation of super accounts more than $1.7M. But all I hear are crickets re guvment defined benefit pensions.

Who is running a scam....
