I can't believe it's over already. If it's any consolation I've very much enjoyed travelling along with you and your sense of humour and it's emphasised the fact I'm going back to finish the NC500 and see a bit more of it soon

Arrived in Edinburgh last night. EK F BNE DXB GLA then EK chauffeur from GLA to Sheraton in Edinburgh. A jolly all on QF FF points.

Excellent flights with good food and exceptional wines, plus very friendly and attentive flight attendants. (Not to self - limit Hennessy Paradis to just two glasses, especially after DOM P2 and Chateau Margaux red carafe.)

We did the Dubai Connect since we had 8 hrs layover in DXB. FF flights meant that we had to take the later 11 pm flight out of BNE on the 777 rather than the 9 pm on 380 so missed the early connection to GLA.

Dubai Connect was very easy and took us to Marriot. Not enough time for lunch at hotel so came back to airport and went to EK lounge for lunch. Not sure if we’ll bother with that again since in the airport hotel is much easier and one can pop over to EK lounge for food and drinks.

Sheraton Edinburgh is very nice hotel, very central with good club lounge and complimentary full breakfast downstairs in main restaurant as well.

We brought the sun with us. Very bright cloudless sunny day around 14C.

Off for a walk now.

I might do TR on this trip to the Edinburgh, Scottish Boarders, Hadrian’s wall, Lake District and Cartmel. I’m thinking that this thread has been well served, especially by Denali’s TR so perhaps I should start a new Scottish Boarders Dreamin thread. Comments?

Definitely a new thread, your own TR as only silly people like me might click on it with Denalis trip being over.

The daffodils are amazing, just growing everywhere. I even googled it, thinking it was a council initiative but they have wild daffodils. So lucky!

19 Degrees in Edinburgh today. Our three days here are predicted to have warm and sunny weather before it returns to only 12 degrees as we depart.

Arrived yesterday after completing the NC500. The west coast of which in particular we both thought was amazing and which exceeded our expectations.

Doing it now prior to peak season made it very enjoyable as the traffic was very light on the single lane roads, plus the walks were midge free!. The days were often quite cold, but with the right "kit" (using UK speak) that does not matter.

We allowed plenty of extra time to take in some day hikes and IMO a mixture of hiking and driving makes for a rich experience of exploring the North Coast Region.

By JessicaTam, these things are quick. 0-100km in under 5 secs.

Like try this - press the accelerator to to floor and read aloud

“Set the navigation to the heart of the sun
Set the speed limiter to 61!”

And you are now hitting the limiter at 62mph.

Faaaaa......r*. It’s wonderful. :):):p

The torque vectoring also makes the thing handle like a go cart. Brilliant.

And luggage fits perfectly!
