I usually get this error because the system seems to put in the date in Australian format (D/M/Y)...but then searches in US format... (M/D/Y)...I just change it manually..
I get this and I have also got an error where it says you can't book this flight because its more than 6 months away! Either case I just find any dates that work and then move forward using the calendar option. It also seems to be computer/browser issues as last week I was searching for a friend using their Mac and we got the 6 month error but when I switched to my PC /chrome I didn't get that error. Its very tedious but hey it's worth it.
There are two outward to DFW via SYD/LAX on September 12 but return could be difficult as this is getting closer to school holidays. However there is availabilty up to September 24 on FJ. Try searching separately for one ways instead of return.
I often get this happening still even though I use Firefox. The problem is that sometimes the website will put the date into Aussie format. The simplest way to get around it is make the day and month the same and just look then at the month results.
In September I will put 9/9,feb 2/2 etc.
I use the calendar that pops up to input the date, thats why l was confused as to why the dates didn't work.
Anyways, if l have issues in the future l'll make sure to check the date format.
