DPD is that yellow form, that we used to get to fill in on return to Aust, papery card board sort of thing.
Easy to fill in, as we know what to write.
There used to be the green OPC, but that one is no longer used.
The yellow form, or IPC, is the one you fill in on the plane, at your leisure, with a biro/pen.
You can fill it out before too, as you could have taken some when you come in previous trips.
Now, its all app or webform, so you will need either a mobile phone, or laptop, or computer where you can fill in data, and take photo of passport data page and selfie.
Quite onerous.
If you don't have a smartphone, you will need a laptop or computer, which is secure, ie, not a public one where there might be keyloggers on it.
Last one from me on this, really, it puts a dampner on int trips.
Bring a laptop, and international charger, and 7 days before trip back to Aust, you can fill in a few things, but 72 hours before trip back, you have to lodge the DPD electronically, for every pax.
Youtube has some videos on how to do it, some on here way its easy, some say complicated.
And no, I haven't filled one in, yet.
Have to create an account, and put in password, too.
Ie, more data for them to know about us.
It is correct to say the DPD or a further incarnation is replacing the IPC, but not quite yet. At present they are running in parallel.

I thought poochie was referring to that too. But the orange IPC for customs declarations etc is still very much there. The DPD replaces any previous covid-related vaccine or quarantine undertakings, which aren't on the IPC.

You do! DPD prior to departure. The Incoming Passenger Card is handed out on the plane, fill that in as usual.
'You do! DPD prior to departure'. We depart 31MAY for DFW, and arrive home 24JUN ex FCO. Logically, the DPD should be submitted when we board in FCO, however the flow of the conversation up until now makes me think it is when we start our journey. Yes or no?

You can start you PDP from 7 days prior to your return flight home. Until recently when Australia required a PCR or RAT before arrival that meant you couldn’t complete your PDP until 3 days or 1 day prior to the day of flight, I guess that will change now there’s no test requirement.

I suppose a logical extension will now be to include the incoming passenger card on the same app? Meaning you’d complete it just before boarding so you were sure you weren’t carrying food etc.

You can start you PDP from 7 days prior to your return flight home but cannot complete it until 3 days prior… well… that was the case until Australia dropped its incoming PCR test requirements. I guess it will now be available 7 days to 1 day or something.
Thanks. It's all too much for my 77 year old brain sometimes...
