I’ve just checked in for J tomorrow Per-Syd and it’s showing my 12yo son and I sitting in different rows. Before today my seat had already been allocated but when I’d tried to Change Seat for my son it said “seat selection not available for this flight”.
When I try now to change seats no others are available.
Can anyone advise what our chances are of getting seats together and if so who to speak to at Perth airport for this? Should I just speak to an assistant before Bag Drop? Or in the Domestic Bus Lounge? Thanks

If online check in isn't open already I'd wait for that.

Failing that check-in agent will be able to help. If needed I'd expect they'll move a solo travel to ensure you will be seated together. Just be sure to speak to a person rather than the kiosk.

Same reservation?

Thanks. Yes have chece

Thanks yes have checked in online, and iwe’re on the same reservation. Can’t change seats as all greyed out. Am calling now but wait times are crazy of course!
Otherwise will try at airport tomorrow. Cheers

Don’t know if it works for domestic but I’ve had success with seat selection using Manage My Booking on rj.com on international sectors where the operating airline’s website wouldn’t let me.

What seats do your BPs say?

Similar to another thread, seat selection in MMB is irrelevant once OLCI opens as it comes under airport control.

The call centre will also be unable to help. I would raise in the lounge.

For 2 pax on one PNR to be separated is highly unusual. Are you in Row 1? I don’t believe a 12yo can occupy that row so that may explain it.

If not, best case is they move someone for you, or at least ask someone to move while you’re in the lounge. Worst case, the crew may ask a pax to move to accommodate you both.

Thanks. His was 2A, mine was 3D. The call centre struggled to “pull up the seat map” and put me on hold which then cut out. So no joy after 2 hrs. Now the app is saying we can’t be checked in online. Will ask at check-in or in lounge.
