What is the difference between Forward Window and Window Forward?
Maybe not so big difference than if you inserted a T.

I guess it's a question of which quality is more important - does the computer look for a forward seat in preference to a window seat? If the first open window seat is in row 20 then "Window Forward" would suggest you'd get that one, as the emphasis is placed on the window.
Thanks for trying to explain but I am still confused and none the wiser. Someone who understands the principle may need to explain this to me at the FT AGM after I have had a few ales.

With my Forward Aisle preference I always get an aisle seat within the first few rows and I have never had a window or middle seat forward based on the forward part of my preference. I still can't understand the difference Aisle Forward would make?

I think the "Forward Aisle" and "Aisle Forward" would possibly give different results.

In the FA preference the allocation would prefer to give you the first forward seat. Possibly could be 1A.

The AF would give you the first available Aisle seat. Could be 3C.

They would need [more?] AI (artificial intelligence) to help the decide each individual's trade off between Aisle seat further back and if only a Window seat was available further up.

Computers are pretty stupid, could be somehting simple as the way the program sorts numbers ie some incredibly expensive systems sort like:: 0, 10, 1, 2, 3 etc

There should be no difference between the results for "Forward Aisle" or "Aisle Forward", either should result in you being provided the most forward available aisle seat. It could only create a problem if there was a limit to what was considered a "forward" seat, such as in front of the exit row. In this case it would be possible that they system would need to decide which preference was most important.

The only definate way is to know what steps and logic the business analysts used in determining the method. Hopefully that is what the programmers coded.
